Stephen Cody
Steve focuses his practice in the area of personal injury, including motorcycle, automobile and truck accidents claims. In addition, Steve handles matters involving civil litigation and insurance claims. He also represents clients in estates and estate planning matters including wills, powers of attorney and living wills.
Steve graduated magna cum laude from the University of Richmond and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1983. Steve was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1983. Steve served as a law clerk for the Honorable D. Richard Eckman in the Court of Common Pleas of Lancaster County in 1983-1984. He is admitted to practice in the United State District Court for Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, as well as the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Steve served as the solicitor for the Metropolitan Water Authority. Steve has been selected by his fellow attorneys to serve as an arbitrator and mediator in numerous civil cases. Steve has also served as master for the Court of Common Pleas of Lancaster County.
Steve is a member of the Lancaster County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations and the Pennsylvania Association of Justice, formerly the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association. He is a member of the Multi –Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Steve is president of the Conestoga Valley Education Foundation. He is a past-president and board member of SouthEast Lancaster Health Services which is now Lancaster Health Center. Steve continues to serve as a board member emeritus. He served on the Lancaster City Planning Commission, the Lancaster County Board of Elections in 1999 and as president of Southeast Lancaster Sertoma Club. Steve was a longtime member of the board of trustees of Community Services of Organized Labor and served on the board of the Urban League of Lancaster. He was a big brother with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Lancaster County.
Steve was named a distinguished alumnus of Conestoga Valley High School in 2019. He was awarded with the 2011 Apex Board Excellence and Service award by the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers for his work with SouthEast Lancaster Health Services.
Steve has served as one of the coaches of the Eden Manor swim team as well as in other youth sports. He lives in Lancaster with his wife Sharon Greelish Cody who is also an attorney. Steve and Sharon are the proud parents of Sarah and Thomas.
